As many of you may / may not be experiencing, Clickbanks payment processor has been really screwed up this week. In two days, I have received 5 complaints from people wanting to buy and having their valid credit card declined. I have tested two of my own valid cards - declined. As of right now - PayPal is working, however I cannot get a CC to go through. I know some of these issues are country specific as well - I am in the US. What I did: Yesterday, after going from a 1:40 conversion rate, to a 1:262 (these are fairly good sample sizes too, not just 1 sale a day), I CALLED CLICKBANK. After giving me the typical lines, I was persistant and told them I was SURE the issue was CC processing, because my own cards wouldn't even work. The female rep agreed that "Our payment processor can have a 'mind of it's own sometimes'" and agreed to see what she could do. An hour later, flooded with CC sales - and things seemed right for a few hours (Even MY CC worked!). By 5PM EST, things were buggy again, and my CC was being declined again. I will call again this AM, and I would suggest you do the same if you are TRULY experiencing issues. As most of you know, I vigorously defend Clickbank typically. I do NOT believe they are scamming, shaving, or intentionally harming affiliates, but there Credit Card system is, at the very least, oversensetive and something needs to be done!
Well this has been going on for the past 5 months. It time for them to fix the problem and tell everyone what the problem is so everyone can feel comfortable about promoting products from clickbank. Right now they are loosing affiliates by the day because of this issue.
As I told in my one of previous post I got 6 sales in a day and surprisingly all were by paypal. Some people don't agree this fact but yes, there is a problem in CC processing. Bad thing about this situation is I am not able to find a proper affiliate network which will stand in front of CB.
Thanks for the info, the thing I find interesting is the fact that when you contacted them your sales went back to normal. What do you think the reason for this is? Do you think even when the credit cards are not working, they somehow hold the details and put them through later when it is working. Or do you think that your sales amounts just returned to normal. Very interested to hear your views? All the best Chris
If I had to guess, I would say there is a way they can correct the error with the fraud detection system they use on credit cards to reset it. It would then work until "tripping" again... But that's just speculation...
Thats interesting dude...I have noticed a drop this month, still getting sales everyday but not the amount I use to get day in day out, hopefully things come right!!
Yeah Patchkaa, I'm sure things will even out. Like you, I have been getting sales still too, but MUCH fewer since Monday, and they have been coming in weird patterns. For Example, 5 sales in less than an hour, at a time that I NEVER get sales, then nothing for the rest of the day.
