This is sure to cause a stir blogmaster up to it again! Knows how to start an appealing thread heh? Im not quite sure ont he final answer but i will agree that it does resemble the pagan symbol. Would be really strange if that is where it was derived or just perhaps strange to me.

Thank you blogmaster for this information,

I was thinking that it came to represent the Islamic calender which uses the moon to account for monthes.

"And of His portents are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or the moon; but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if it is in truth Him Whom ye worship." [Qur'an, 41.37]

What about the star in the zionists' flag? do you have any idea where it come from?

I'm glad you've asked. It was NOT used by King David, the closest scripture comes to mentioning it would be either the shield of Solomon or the Star of Rephan, both pagan symbols as well.

    Thank you very much.

Just I have noticed in your link that it says that the star came when Solomon changed to paganism.

Well, this reminded me with a verse in the Quran translated as follows:

And they (the jews) followed what the devils gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Solomon. Solomon did not disbelieve, but the devils disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two (angels,) Hârût and Mârût, but neither of these two angels taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allâh's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew. (102) [chapter 2].

The reason why the star and the crescent are used as the official symbol of Islam are not answered in there. It simply indicates that there is a passage mentioning the sun and the moon.

My Facebook group is growing daily and they're only getting started. ;)

You guys remind me to some of my Catholic friends when confronted with the fact that phallic symbols and paintings of demons are being used in their artwork.

This is the difference between accepting what someone tells you as fact and truly understanding a religion before you actually follow it.
