The third in less than a year of my 'life-time hosting with WHM panel' accounts for 39.95 usd a year has gone AWOL. Add to that the three 'single site hosting' accounts and I've waved bye-bye to six hosts in the past 18 months with never a word from them prior to their disappearing. It kinda peeves me as a buddy got his hosting from ebay and hasn't had any problems in two years of multi-domain hosting...good for him, just wish I could get a host like that. Clicking on the backup folders I have for each site, they are about 500kb in size and I have 40 and am trying to build to 100. The most busiest and most profitable site gets about 150 visits a day. Any recommends for a hosting service as I'm done with the ebay lottery...
Get a hold of fat network .com which is who I am with for 4 servers and yes, I originally found them on Ebay!! They are great for me and very affordable and have full Cpanel accesses!
Try co-located servers with a reputable company; it is worth paying a bit more rather than the hassle you have been going through.
I'd stay well away from fat network.com. Here's why http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=616729 I've had some personal experience with them, and would not recommend them. Good luck with who ever you choose.
hostgator.com if you want to host loads of sites Hawkhost.com have been good for me tho and cheaper than hostgator
I would be willing to help you personally get setup with one of our reseller plans. We have been going strong for several years and post our track record on our sites. We can offer a 25 domain (+unlimited parked domains) plan for only $5.33 per month at: Lyten Host or an unlimited domain account for 9.97 per month at: Kernow-Webhosting thanks
Didn't have a good experience with FN last year so I won't be dealing with them but I'm glad to hear you are happy with their service, seo5. I didn't see your post 'til after I got new hosting, Scoopy. I know this thread is here with your link so if/when this new host goes tits up, I'll head your way. Also considering Hostgator as they have good recommendations though they are a bit more expensive but I'm willing to pay a bit more for less stress.
well to be honest mate any service like "lifetime hosting for xx" amount of money and you should run in the opposit direction. look at it this way. does your $39.95 cover that guys hosting fees for the next 100 years? no it doesnt so it would be silly of him to give you hosting that is costing him lets say $50 per 5 years, when he has given it to you for $39.95 for life. if you do deals like that your asking to be ripped off. you get what you pay for in this world. nothing is for nothing!
I always pick big companies to host with as you can't mess about with hosting. Your cheap mate who got hosting from eBay might be ok today, but the future is uncertain, this is especially true if he has a decent site with decent traffic... he doesn't know who has access to it. This is why I pay $1500/year when I could be paying $200/year on hosting, because I know that my site will be up all the time and there's no chance of it being played around with - which is the most important factor for me.
