I was just doing my daily news read and found a rather interesting Business Week article that was on the frontpage of Digg. The article discusses what MSN and Yahoo are doing to combat googles huge market share of search traffic and contextual advertising. It offers a lot of interesting information concerning strategies being put forth by the two smaller of the big three search engines. Heres the link, hope everyone finds it interesting. http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/06_19/b3983079.htm
Yes, I saw this one this morning. As for Yahoo, the main problem I see is their targeting just doesn't compare to google.
I like the idea of Yahoo! and MSN's attempt to compete with Google more aggressively. But how in the reality can they do it to even make a little crack on the hard monopoly wall of Google? After all, the users are making Google big nowdays. If Google is already so popular search engine of all, how can it become less popular so that Yahoo! and MSN can have some chance to compete with? I would like to see some good competition among them though. Or even a new search engine for the same reason. Google is too big and being too big is not a good thing.
