Same here. Once for all my sites due to an incompetent ISP(ValueWeb.com) blocking Google traffic, and a few other times for individual sites. They all came back eventually. Simply commenting on the $$$ lost doesn't make us "whiners" as the pompous a$$holes on threadwatch like to suppose. The ones I saw on there talked about creating new sites to manage the problem-- which seems to be the way a spammer would deal with it instead of a white-hat SEO that has some core content sites they're trying to promote and can't just throw them away each update... -- Derek
I agree. Threadwatch's a great site however. I will tell how much I have lost because it allows me to make something positive out of a negative
Yeah link exchanges don't bring the same traffic, they can work if you manage to get a link on the home page of an industry portal.
I can not say too much for obvious reasons, but i would say i am down about 15k over the past 2 weeks. Thats a chunk I have been making up by email marketing to exsisting customers. Thats not to say other domains that we have are not doing well. I have actuall seen an abnormal increase in doorway pages that have been banned last year, doing quite well. So i guess as the company is concerned, its business as usual, but for me 15k is about right.
My parade ended around mid August. A big slap in the face for no apparent reason. I have been holding pretty much steady (slightly less though each month since then) and just HOPE things turn around and go back the other way. Its all Google traffic related too. Another hit like the one in August would really turn my stomach.
I'm tellin ya, its a lot more fun to make $9k/month with adsense + website sales than to make $5k/month + fewer website sales.
Yea... no kidding. 7k+ per month just makes you feel better than 5k per month. The previous gives you hope of having a full-time business... the latter becomes extra money to put toward retirement.
This might mean that your traffic is now in some way targetted to a greater degree than previously. BB
Apparently not much! My authority site with ~7,500 Google visitors a day has received a whopping 455 Google visitors this month so far. With Bourbon, it took 30 days for Google to fix this same symptom. I was hoping that Google had learned from their last screwup.
It seems like everyone else just moved up a notch. This site chased 700+ low-competition SERPS. I had *a lot* of 1's, 2's, and 3's. Now I have a lot of 50's, 60's and 70's.
That's a bugger. I seem to have gone up and up since the update. But then I suppose someone has to. Hope you get your placements back. Good work in targeting that "long thin tail". There be rich pickings there whilst everyone else fights it out at the top
thanks to MSN, Yahoo, and other marketing outlets my client’s sites are doing well. Google has a mess on their hands; which IMO will take sometime to resolve. Google's results appear to be getting worse with each passing day, and I see their market share eroding sooner rather then later. Google should just become a PPC... LOL
so true - if G continues with this type of SERPs, G can all say goodby to the marketshare that it has enjoyed for so long.
ughhh shivam why did you bump a stupid old Jagger thread? And how does your question about Adsense format relate to the evil Jagger update anyways?
