In the middle of last week I put this site together. It aims to be the most complete, most authoratative, most useful Chitika site around. It includes tips found elsewhere and adds a whole load of new ones. I hope it'll help some webmasters 1. Decide if Chitika is right for them 2. Have a one-stop shop for all Chitika tips 3. Add another revenue stream without affecting their current income 4. Show how they can use it together with Adsense without TOS violations 5. Have a ready showcase for Chitika changes and updates 6. Answer questions that Chitika doesn't already answer on their FAQ page Any suggestions? Criticisms?
Maybe have a look at your design and reduce its size a little , i dont have my montor on the highest res but its on quite high and i still have to scroll left to right as well as up and down, this factor can sometimes put your visitors off.
You might try to organize the pages on the left column a little more into some sort of categories. Just as a casual reader, it's a little hard to figure out where to look for what - so maybe something like "Earnings Help:" or whatever and then two-three pages under that related to earnings, increasing income, etc., then another for "Customizing Your Ads:" or whatever other categories you can think of.
Thanks for your feedback, everyone. Chrissie, what resolution are you on? I tried to keep it so that if you had 800x600 you'd see the main body and would have to scroll only for the right column. kneukm03, that's a good suggestion. I'll mull over how I can reorganise that. mcfox, I'll try that colour and see how it looks but I did want to keep it fairly non-vibrant.
Seems to me you accomplished keeping the main body and left column on the screen at 800 X 600 but they still have to scroll to see your training tab at the top. don't know how important that is to you. Just an obsveration. On my 19" monitor, at 800 X 600 you can see all of the title, but on my 17" half of the word "You" is cut off an makes me want to scroll over to see if there is more to the statement. Again, just an observation. Mike C.
Damn! You know what - you guys are right. I do need to work on the sizing. 1) The full nav bar should be visible in 800x600. 2) The "You" not being visible in the
is because I haven't set the H2 spacing the same as the
and that needs to be amended as well. Thanks for all the feedback.
>> colour scheme makes it hard to read >> white on light grey color Huh? I didn't realise I had white on light grey. Where are you seeing that? (What browser/OS?)
Ah, OK, the header. That was by design. Hopefully people will start reading at the clearer text in the H2. Didn't think anyone would struggle to read the H1 - I thought they'd just go past it - I know better now
mcfox, thanks for taking the trouble. The tabs in your mock-up are less easily readable than the originals. Or so it appears on my screen. But the header certainly looks better. OK, you've convinced me, I'll add that H1 change to my list of changes to make.
H1 colour change made so it's more easily readable. H2 title (just under the nav bar) adjusted so no horizontal scrolling required. Adjusted nav bar so no horizontal scrolling required. Will redesign left column to be more intuitive. Any more ideas, guys?
