I just read a thread about Amazon Affiliate and someoen says that the brand name in the domain name can cause copyright !Is that real? How can I solve it for I ahve build a site that contain a brand name in the domain!
many get away with that, but you have to be prepared to get a request to surround your domain at any time - so why risk?
A lot of people do get away with it and I have done on a few sites. It is a calculated risk. I have never got caught but I also don't put too much investment into these domains, nor do I target the big companies like Apple or Microsoft.
this really depends on the context. if your domain and content is referring to the brand, then you could run in to trouble. but if a word you are using to discuss another subject, but just happens to also be a brand name then you should have nothing to worry about.
You are violating the manufacturer's Trademark, not copyright, when your domain name contains a trademarked name like "ipad" or "nike" You should start looking for another program now so you are ready if and when amazon pulls the plug. I have read that sometimes they cancel the amazon affiliate account entirely, other times items disappear from your store, and in other cases nothing happens. Hopefully you can find a different way to monetize the website where you don't risk being cutoff. At least you will be spreading your risk.
This problem include subdomain right? Can I have sub domain with brand name in it. Example ipad.xxx.com ...
