The biggest time waster in Internet marketing

    Hello Fellow Members,

When you are just starting out, you get an incredible rush every time you check that affiliate account and see a sale.

Guess what... long after you become a seasoned pro, you still get that rush.

The problem is that the rush you get from seeing those numbers change when you hit the refresh button becomes addicting... and unless you are addicted broccoli, addictions are bad.

This particular addiction takes up an incredible amount of your day. So, the next time you blast your list or put up a new squeeze page, resist the temptation to check your stats every three minutes. That time would be better spent working on your next big idea.

Limit yourself to checking how much money you made once every few hours. Do this and you will have enough free time left over to start that needlepoint hobby you've been putting off.

    Regards

I actually agree with this one! It can almost be as addictive as hitting the SEND AND RECEIVE button on your email client and waste as much time. :)

I agree, IM is very addictive, you keep working long hours, lot of excitement to get and see the figures. Most IM'ers work too hard

LOL... funny comments.. but so true.. you can find excuses all day to waste time.. I talk to some of my students and they say.. well back to reading emails.. (haha) I'm like, STAY out of your gmail accounts and start applying some products and making your own dough...

I also tell them to "Stop Buying Everything You See" and start applying some of it until you have money to spare from your sales...

Then I say I Mostly buy with "Intent to Sell" If I see something I can turn into my own product, and I know I'll at least make my investment back.. (then I may think about if I have room for it)

as the old saying goes "You can make money or excuses, but your can't make both"

Think of all the time you waste in a day.. and see how to cut them out and start to be more productive in your schedule....

Now..... If I could just follow my own advice! LOLOL..

I check way too often, sometimes three times a day. It should be enough to check like one time every four days to get a good overview of the earnings.
If you check too often you might not get a good overview nd mess up your Internet Strategy by changing it before any results came in.

Biggest waste of time is that you have 5 'million dollar' ideas in your head and non of those are online!

Yeh, and the funny thing is that allmost all my ideas have been done by other people like 3 years after i came up with them.
And everyone with those ideas are now filthy rich...

I'm just too scared to start up big projects.. it will be my doom.

Great Post! A lot of waisted time in the beginning. It takes tons of Vistitors to make sales. Your time should be spent on increasing your visit to your site.

It's definitely addictive and can slow you down on getting the next thing done. You should discipline yourself and schedule one time during the day when you look at your stats so you can focus on your business and bring in more of those sales.

As stated above checking email and PayPal or Clickbank sales can be a BIG time waster.
I check my Emails only 3-4 times a day and my support emails in every 2 hours.

I agree, if you were to add up the amount of time you constantly check your accounts to see if you have made a sale and how much, you would find that you have wasted an incredible amount of time, over the years, rather like sleeping for 2.5 years of our lives

Facebook is one of the biggest time killers...a lot of people waste so much of their day just looking at other people's status updates!

Well, we all know what's good and what's bad but we still do the bad part with great pleasure because we are somewhat "ADDICTED"
