Challenge me if you have proof of anything more ridiculous. I use Awstats and Webalizer and recently added Adsense as well as Analytics These are their DAILY September averages. Awstats 1500 Visitors 2500 Pages (Views) Webalizer 150 Visitors 400 Pages (Views) Adsense --- Visitors 100 Pages (Impressions) Analytics 4 Visitors 10 Pages (Views) My Alexa ranking is fluctuating at around 450000 and even though webmasters know it doesn't mean anything, an accurate 450000 rank would warrant maybe 1000-3000 visitors a day in my opinion. I know there are discrepancies in statistics due to bots and crawlers. But we are looking at a near 10000% Visitor discrepancy and 2500% Page View discrepancy. My reaction is WTF? If anyone is willing to help me solve this mystery I am willing to compensate for your time but only if a solution is uncovered. Access to all files will be granted and a very grateful itrader will be left. Please ask any questions you may have and God bless anyone that can help me on this one. PS Any insight from past discrepancies and such will also be appreciated. One more thing. I try to get a lot of my traffic from Myspace so I send out 50 image comments a day as well as 50 friend requests. I Digg articles once in a while as well.
LOL the great adsense traffic conspiracy.....my daily awstats averages for one of my sites is around 350, adsense reports around 500, and my alexa rank is 1,900,000, I dont get that either, but who cares, as long as im getting more traffic and clicks.
Im assuming the numbers you mentioned are page views. Well thats great for you since your adsense shows higher than your awstats. I would not care for a split second if my numbers were reversed with 3000+ impressions on adsense and 100 on awstats . But that is not the case.
Doesn't awstats count seperate elements as views... Therefore 1 page with 30 images would class as 31 views, refresh and you got 62 views etc. Whereas in Google Analytics it would class as 2 pageviews if they refreshed.
thank you webdesigner I believe the image hits registering as page views is indeed why Awstats shows so many page views. Now any idea how to edit that? Adamk1. I only have 1 ad on each page.
Hi, You have to edit NotPageList in the AWStats config file according to your requirements. The default value is: NotPageList="css js class gif jpg jpeg png bmp ico" Code (markup): To exclude the Flash files from the page views, replace the line by: NotPageList="css js class gif jpg jpeg png bmp ico swf" Code (markup): Jean-Luc
