    The database includes: Address database of the UK, containing over 27 million addresses

    So I wouldn't be suprised of the size :D

    Well a site I admin for has a 2GB database and that's BEFORE the dump. A dump would produce a nearly 4GB sql file.

    120+ Gig single database (11 tables) data collected every month on transaction server and burned to DVD at end of the month and also archived by month onto another server. Second server is used primarily for fast searches, aggregated reporting and statistics generation.

    Postgres is what I use of both servers.
