I was looking through some article directories and noticed that A LOT of people forgot to check whether they should use HTML in their "Resources" or "About The Author" box or just their full URL. This is why a lot of articles don't have an active link on the bottom. I just finished submitting to a few article directories and made the same mistake. Fotunately I caught myself before I was done and went back and corrected them.
Good call. I don't really trust article submission offers for that reason. The best thing to do it submit your articles to the best directories yourself and be aware of the format.
You can see one example in this article in the About The Author section. The domain "DrugStoreTM.Com" is not an active link but I'm sure those were the intentions of the author. http://www.articlegold.com/Article/Fear-and-The-Yakuza/11804
As you said, I also have mistakes in adding URL or HTML is the resource box. that's why sometimes, i need to rechecked and corrected it.
The first time I submitted articles I used software to do that. It took me about an hour to complete but when I was done I later found out that half the articles I submitted to didn't have an active link. If you don't take your time to look at other postings, you won't be able to tell what the right way is.
Good point. People really need to keep this in mind. Thanks for bringing it up. Something I need to start taking care of as well.
I think a lot of those problems are caused by mass article submission software. If you stick with just a few quality directories, you'll probably remember the specific requirements for each one.
