Hi guys... I am those who thinks that there is always something good in every single situation, even those that look really dark and pesimistic. Then again being optimist doesnt have anything to do with knowing what to do after you find yourself in one of those situations. So... my only idea is to come here. .share it with you and hope some good ideas flourish out of this thread. and prevent other newbies from doing the same.. so here it goes.: I am a web designer (flash mostly .. .i know i know) and i do very good (money wise) doing websites in my country (panama) ... but i have always wanted to have a succesfull "global" project that can make me work less on the long run and that doesnt need that much stress (dealing with customers ..etc) so i thought a spanish guitar tabs site will be a good way to go. So.. i bought a great domain name: Tablatura.org (tablatura is spanish for "tablature or tab") and suscribed myself in this forums and started reading. I wass very very happy and optimistic... the first two weeks i wasnt even indexed in google... and i was getting aroun 4 or 20 unique visitors daily.... but i kept uploading new songs (from a database i gathered) (and manually... like 100 tabs a day) and hoping for the best. I started commenting... started doing some social bookmarking in spanish too! and even got myself a nice signature relevant to my site in this forum!!! =D well .. when i hitted the 30 day mark i finally got indexed by google ... so i raised my traffic to aroung 14 to 30 uv a day... so i made another desicion... i made an adword campaing... relevant... 50 bucks a month.. setted it to a minumun of .01 cent CPC (chose the domain name of the biggest tab site and) ... and BUM!! it worked WONDERS!!!! suddenly i was getting 140 CPC visitors with 19% bounce rate... and 6 page views average...! i was even getting people registered (i have a registration form in the site) so i know the traffic driven through my add was good!... the weird side was that all my organic google traffic was having such a high bounce rate!!! (80%) and yahoo traffic much lower =D (20%) .. i think this happens because my competitors site comes always on top of mine and when they search for ANOTHER version of the tabs the run into my site and see is the same tab so the leave right away.. .just a gues.. when i turn 30 days .. i decides to put adsense.. then i learned the hard lesson. AVERAGE 01 cent per click .. thats what i get paid... i have a CTR around 3% that i know i can improve.... but what for 1 cent clicks ? for gods sake sooo sad.. The positive outlook is that i am getting now (60 days old site) around 150 cpc and 150 ORGANIC!!! google (high bounce rate though... ) but the organic visitors (90% new) keeps increasing.. due to the site constant upload of content and its indexation i guess.... the site is very url and meta content SEO friendly too (mod rewrite etc) so.. here i am ... not knowing what to do... site in spanish .. so i cannot apply to most of the affiliate programs... Adsense clicks Sucks mostly for the niche ... not even 1 cent... ... tell me . .what to do .. traffic increasing.. great seo work done so far... etc.. no rentability ? is there any other options how to monetize from this hard work in the future ? any ideas ? if you read everyting i just posted i am very grateful.. all oppinions are very much welcome! best regards!
