No matter if it's blogging or a dynamic cms based web site. The income model is mostly based on:- 1-Traffic 2-Content & some sort of keyword dependent too. that's it in my opinion.
I totally I agree with this, About two years back I have a website with free templates, php script and tutorials (all mine designed, coded and written). That time I was unaware of adsense and other CPC and CPM things. Believe me without any effort, I managet to get 25000 UV per month, then due to server crash I lost my website. Since then I am still unable to achieve that position . Thats why I am now focusing on my freelance jobs .
I agree with 'write for the user' - at least in the long term I think you'll profit more that way. Maybe if you want to get in fast on a high paying keyword you might do ok with a site made just for adsense, but I don't think you'll get much returning traffic.
I'm pretty sure he makes 3-4 grand now and it goes up every month... he's doing well for a pretty new blog
Well I'm not for sure but I do know that a lot (if not most) sucessful people that I've read about that have monetized a website have stated that content is the first priority and the rest will happen.
When i first started a site i was wanting to make more and more money. I was just focusing on making money, but my next site improved alot. Some time ago i started a tutorial site and i was just writing tutorials. I put up adsense ads on there, only one. I didnt want to make money i mean i did but i didnt focus on it. I just wanted to give good content. When i started posting many tutorials the traffic came pouring in and the money started coming . - Prilep

no he doesnt make $10K from adsense. In fact Reviewme is paying him almost 1/3 of that. From adsense he makes around 4-5K, the last i read on his blog.
Micheal arrington of Techcrunch makes way more than $2K. He makes around 6K-7K from adsense and way more from direct advertisers. Somewhere in the range of 20-30K. One of my frd very close to Mic told me this
Yeah that's why i start to make my blog now! I think they might made from selling links or adverts too XD
Today making money with adsense is most popular way to earn. But i am not sure in future this situation will be there or change.
Add to that the niche you're blogging about, which sometimes determines the amount you get per click.
