I agree ... if you build a website only for adsense (like I did) it's often a short goal.... this websites make some money but not in a long term.
Adsense isn't everything, it only let's you earn pennies, you may make more money from affiliate programs since the conversionrate is sometimes similar.
it could be more than just writing content. it could be developing a novel web concept (like digg, forums) that gets lots of people active and involved. I think that developing a site with a new twist on user interactivity is a must if you're going to have any kind of long term success with a site.
In my opinion you should not combine adsense and affiliate programs on the same site. You should develop each site for a specific purpose, no mixing. As mentioned above, always try and use good interesting content as this will always bring back repeat visitors.
I believe that blogging is not a good way to make BIG money from adsense. Famous blogger John Chow mades around $1000+ per month and Michael Arrington maybe $2000 or so (I heard this last year).
I agree with you on this one... the blogging market is so saturated.. unless you have something unique/amazing and NEW to offer.. there's a very high chance that you won't make it big.
i dont agree, my approach is to search the highest paying ads, and write quality artciles for these keywords.
Well adsense is pennies compared to CPA like Azoogle. But it's a good way to monetize your site for immediate, easy revenue.
All my first adsense sites made fast just for the click went just as fast.Its way better to just use worth reading content but i do always put one affilate work on the site..
I would say the best ways to make money from adsense is to advertise and promote your sites. You can have good content but if no one knows about your site, I doubt that you'll earn much from adsense.
