The best way to promote a forum!

If you could only pick THREE ways to market your new forum what would those three ways be?

 

1) Place link in signature of DP.
2) Buy ad space on related sites.
3) Word of mouth.

 

Press release/article marketing
Place link in siggie at any forum i belong to
Run referral contest (With Great Prize's)

3. submission of sitemap on search engine

1. Create a youtube page, make videos, watermark and upload. Post a link to your site in the description of every video. My youtube page as an example - http://www.youtube.com/user/survivalistboards

2. Give your forum the best site description and best meta description you can.

3. Embed the videos into your forum.

Thats about all you need, everything else is a waste of time. If people like your videos they will post them on other sites. Providing you with free traffic and links to your videos.

 

As adwords hold major share of internet traffic i will try adwords in the following way
I will advertise in countries where i can get click in 5-10 cents assuming a member at the max of $1
You have to make 50-100 id yourself on the forum and do some posts that it should appear forum is active .. Then do contact your members on regular basis and invite them to post on forums .
Do offer draw's free gifts (like free software ebooks etc ) for members who invite friends on your forum ..
Once your forum start getting posts all you need to do is moderate traffic search engines will send you a lot of traffic automatically
