The best way to post to a payment gateway?

    I have a form that users complete and then it is posted to a payment gateway.

    Currently the form posts to a page which reads the values into a database and then uses javascript to submit a form to the payment gateway as soon as the page loads.

    The problem is that if a user wants to return to the first page they have to click "back" twice to get there and most users don't know to do this.

    What is the best way of getting round this problem?
