    Hey DP,

I would like to perform a stress test on our website.
    I have checked out http://www.dotcom-monitor.com/stress-calculator.asp

and I believe they offer just what we are looking for.

We would like to do a test with 1000 simultaneous users performing 4 steps each and then repeating this for 100 cycles.

Dotcom-Monitor.com gave me price estimate of $820 which seems very high for this kind of job. Our budget is small but we take things like this seriously, so any advice would be greatly appreciated from others who have "been there, done that".

I would not like to use any application that would run on my local PC because that would not simulate our real users on the site.

    Thanks!

Any additional info regarding Stress Testing would be greatly appreciated.

    Have a great day,
    William

That price is pretty high for a one time testing. Actually these are all going to be simulations, whther you run an application yourself or get someone else to do that. It is all about making http connections simultaneouly, an application running on your pc could be as good or bad as what you get done by third party.
