the best way to monetize a site

    hi

    anyone here that know what's the best way to monetize a wallpapers site? i tried with adsense,but the ctr is much to low,any other ideas?

    It depends on your traffic. What kind a traffic do you have?
    From which country and what is your bounce rate.

    If you will search this forum you will know that you wont make good money on a wallpaper site from adsense.

    I once owned a wallpaper website before and I also tried adsense and you are correct CTR are way to low.

    You should try CPM companies, take a look at this list and find something worth attention for You. try to combine one popup ad with 1 inpage banner and You should be able to make some good money out of it - of course - amount of money depends of Your traffic

    i get around 500 unique daily from search engines...most of the users comes from usa. can i use popup ads if i also use adsense on my site?

    yes, You can use Adsense and popups at the same time. First one from the list pays 1.80$ per 1000 impressions of popups from the USA source of traffic. knowing that You have 500+ uniques daily You should aern about 0.90$/day from only one CPM company, additional 27$/month. Don't know how much You aern from Adsense, but I suggest You wait with CPM little longer, have more traffic - if not and You want money right away I suggest You combine two CPM companies and leave Adsense. One CPM for popups and second for inopage banners.

    Use of popups is a violation of Adsense TOS.

    this is what they are saying in their FAQ section. ( link )

    It states clearly, that if the ad is different that Adsense YOU CAN use THEM with adsense. popups are moslty images/flash ads - they are different than contextual Adsense - YOU CAN use them. Don't tell such things if You didn't read Google TOS please :). Violation of Google TOS would if the popup was displaying google ads in itself.

    I guess the only way is by trying all the other options on your site like Adbrite and Bidveriser they may work better or even try moving the adsense ads around or even change the colours of the ads themselves.
