What is the best way to get good links to your website and have some kind of search engine presence and good traffic. What do you do, in better detail then just, "Submit articles and post on blogs" please .
Create an informative website with a lot of original high-quality content. Then it will attract links by itself without any effort on your part.
If you content is good, people will link to you. These are the best links since they're natural. So you might want to try a linkbait It's not easy but if you're creative enough, you will succeed.
That has got to be one of the broadest questions on earth... Anyway... Search Google for the key words you want (or relevant key words) and start tagging sites that rank high. You will want to do reciprocal linking or backlinking from them. Also, locate all the forums in your niche and start making relevant contributions to the forum and include your sig. Do not spam...
Yes, focus on content. That is important since it gives your visitors a reason to stay and possibly purchase your product. Then people will start naturally linking to you. Of course, working on getting links on your own may be a hard and tedious task, so you'll see what works best.
getting tired of seeing these questions that are looking for easy answers. if you want your site to succeed, be prepared to work your butt off. and yes, this includes (but is in NO WAY limited to) article submission and blog commenting. good content and on-site SEO is the foundation and any link building you do after that will bring in the extra traffic you need

Another way is to write articles for known blogs... like I just wrote for Techcrunch: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/23/therarestwords-intriguing-semantic-seo-project-from-russia Got a good link from them...maybe I'll write more for them or for other blogs.
i do many different methods of link building for myself. depending on the niche, some site needs more backlinks than others. while building a quality site will get you some organic backlinks, if your site is intended to do business online and make money, not many people you will find that will be linking to you. therefore i have to buy links and get free links using several methods. however, what ever i do, i always keep in mind the quality over quantity. i know i can get my article submitted to 300 blogs giving me 900 backlinks for only $6 or something, that will only make me a spammaster instead of webmaster and i will get duplecate content penalty from google for the same article being posted on 300 sites. i would rather pay more to submit to only one indivdual blog which is relevant to my site. i also buy in-content links from relevant sites (you can search DP's BST section and you will find some), i also use blogroll on relevant sites. when i do directory submission, i only submit to nich specific directories manually and do not use any directory submition service that submit my sites to 100 or 700 irrelevant directories. i also do blog commenting and make sure i only submit to blogs that are revelant to my niche and make usefull comments that adds value to the article. hope that helps
