The best way to build natural links to a website

    Hi,

I've created a website that I believe has unique and useful content people are going to naturally link to (http://www.marketing-training-center.com).

However, in the past I've found natural links to be slow to come by. What is the best way to speed up the process, and get people to naturally link to this website?

I'm doing the standard link-building methods to try to induce natural links - article writing, forum posting, press releases, social media, blog commenting on relevant blog posts, etc.

Does anybody have any other tips to stimulate natural links to a content based website?

    Hi,
it is great that you have decided to go by natural links. But you have to understand what is natural links. Just because you have a useful website it will get links, First you need to bring your website to other's knowledge, and if they are really impressed with you site, then natural links start piling up.

Let me explain with an example.

Consider that i am a Lionel Messi fan. I am looking for Lionel Messi goals compilation is HD format. If you have a website which has this content, then naturally i will use it and spread the word to others. I will write about your site in my blog, in soccer forums, twitter, facebook, orkut, etc. There will be people out there looking for the same content. They might have asked that question in fan communities, yahoo answers, etc. I will answer them with your website. This process will keep on repeating itself.

This is how natural links are gifted.

    1. You need to have high quality content which other sites does not posses.
    2. You need to make people aware of your website presence and it's value for them.

I did not go deep into your website. From the home page i can see 450 free marketing ideas. I into online marketing and I would love to read about quality marketing ideas.

So instead of writing " 450 free marketing ideas", just go for "One marketing idea which has never been revealed before".

and to get that one marketing idea you have to research, analyse, implement and test. This one idea should be yours own discovery.

    Good Luck!

Hi Rajanforums. Your advice seems on base. I've definitely been toying with the idea of marketing idea of the day/week type concept. I've also been toying with a Marketing Idea of the Day widget people could place on their website that would update each day with a new idea. Would anyone here would use something like that? Or would that be a waste of time?

Well you have got the right method but not the best idea. Before asking others about whether they will be interested in such a widget, please ask that to yourself. if the answer is "Yes" please go ahead. But the concept of building links via distributing widgets and themes always brings high quality links.

I recently found a website ranked first for a competitive keyword. When i analysed their link strategy i found they created one of the most useful wordpress plugins and distributed it for free. That plugin was used by high pr and authoritative blogs and they got back links in thousands.

    Hi rajanforums,

I guess the real question is would a marketing agency put such a widget on their page to increase their credibility as a marketing company? So if I build it that should be my goal, to increase the credibility of the marketing company itself rather than over-promoting myself on somebody elses page. But even then, I'm still on the fence whether people would use it, or how if I could market it aggressively. Any ideas on how I could promote such a widget?

To people who have suggested articles and press releases, I'm more referring to ways to encourage people to naturally link to my website as a useful resource, rather than self-promoting it because I believe natural links weigh a lot more than links you build yourself through those methods (I've found PR links to be almost worthless as far as page rank building goes). I am using those methods to try to speed things up, but my ultimate goal is to attract natural links.

I'm thinking online networking is probably going to be my best bet after further consideration. I really need to find the websites that would link to the kind of resource I'm providing.

Thanks to everybody that has weighed in so far, and thanks to anybody who can offer further advice.

I have found that automation software, while some may consider to be blackhat, is the most effective way of building links. They are natural, as these are links from profiles, articles, and social networks, and they do get indexed, and they do provide results.

You want natural links? Create good quality content and if it's really good, people will link to you. That's what I called good quality, natural link building.

You want to waste your life away waiting for quality natural links? Go ahead. I've written plenty of good content, but only the best of the best of the best will ever get any kind of mention in big blogs like Kotaku, Gizmodo, or other sites.

I don't encourage natural links. These will only come with super popular viral videos, images, and audio.

I build links myself. I spin articles, I blast them to 50 or so social networks, blogging sites, and article directories. I ping said articles. I submit RSS feeds to aggregrators. I ping those. Rinse and repeat.

SENuke gives you the ability to do this automatically.

How do you do in terms of going from PR0 to PR3 for example with a strategy like that? What's your general timeframe?

When did I say it's BlackHat? It's not BlackHat. This is what pisses me off about Digital Point, they make you think BlackHat is automated link building, no, what it is is scraping content, cloaking, stealing traffic. What I do is Grey Hat, it's not black hat at all.

I'm not going to tell you, because I'd be lying. I've only been in the game for a year, but I will admit that reading black hat forums have helped me way more than Digital Point.

Don't focus on PR, it's really not that important, Google even said so before, but I can't find the post right now.
