The best way is to build links. This can be done by submitting to directories and exchanging links with other blogs and sites that share the same topic. The most important is to add new and original content and update as much as possible. The more you post the quicker you will get noticed. Readers like a lot of updates because they will want to check back and see what is new. Also be sure to use sites like digg.com and stumble upon to get your site more traffic. Always check DP for free directories, link exchanges and other offers as a way to build your back links. i've heard stumble upon but i don't know what it is. so, what is stumble upon? how does it work for promoting my blog?
Just try and post your link in as many places as possible, for example going on lots of forums and making sure you have links in your signature, as you do in this one and linking in related blogs, maybe you could swap links with some related sites as other webmasters and blog owners would probably be interested in improving their own page ranks as well. It is like a social network where if someone hits the stumble button and you are in the system, if you fit their interest groups, your site might come up and they will view you site. Stumble upon is just a small part of building traffic but it does get you traffic. I have a post on my Stumble Blog in my signature that explains how to use Stumble Upon. It is easy, fun and a bit addicting. I would give it a try as long as you use Fire Fox. If you not, you can download it and you can still use IE also.
You can expand on your blog entries and make full articles to publish on various article directories. use the resource box to link back to your blog. Good luck.
When I write articles, I always submit them to my blog first. Then I ping my blog, before submitting the articles to other directories.
advertise everywhere but follow rules, buy links from other blogs or related sites, trade links, put link in sigs in forums, submit to directories, submit to search engines, sometimes topsites even help and do what donthate said, keep your site fresh, keep on updating

It certainly is true what they say about content being king. Good is often relative though. If you're planning to spend time marketing your site on social networks - try to get a feel for what is liked by those communities and write to that audience.
1. Adding fresh unique content (preferrably daily) is the most important for blog popularity, I think. Thus your traffic will increase rapidly due to blog search. Besides, Google loves unique content and regularly updated sites. Also be more specific. Web surfers search for names, events, dates, etc. I see that at your blog you focus more on some general terms (like Champions League Final, FA Cup Final). You could consider using more specific labels/tags though (also will help in social media). 2. Traffic via Google images is also great and quite easy to achieve. the best way is to write interesting stuff on your blog that don't make people screaming "OMG" or "WTF". Your content is probably your most significant tool that is at your disposal.

Post your links on different social bookmarking such as digg, reddit, stumble upon, etc. Doing some directory and article submission also works as well.
