Just don't be the one to harrass the paediatrician torment the intellectually disabled guy just because he lives in a "halfway house" Hopefully the people compiling these lists do the right research and don't unleash the morons at the wrong people. And how will this affect the value of your property? I'm impressed though, you get the impression from the amber alerts and the media that women and children are under constant threat but a search around Pheonix showed that it's either clean or under reported... I found only 5 in the area I scanned which seemed a little low.
There was a sex offender guy that used to live on my block. I felt bad for him. He was single and got down w/ a 17 year old after he met her at a bar. He thought she was 22. Poor bastid! People used to drive by and yell shit at him and egg his house and stuff.
Well, that's actually more encouraging than I thought. Nobody within about 5 blocks of my apartment, and nobody within a screen of my university... and this is in NYC. I know it's not lack of data, since panning down to Jamaica Ave. shows a large cluster of them (which isn't surprising in the least).
Cruel, buddy, cruel! They don't do a bookmarking feature and they haven't dared to venture down this way. I imagine these guys will be working on it.
I know that 3 blocks from us is a house where an older couple have people live with them that have come out of jail or prison for being a sex offender. They help them get back on their feet and even employ many of them. I have been over there a couple of times and they know that I have kids (which is the problem some of them have had) I know many of the guys it is a struggle they don't even want in their lives and they have to fight it. I also know a guy who was involved with a younger niece for some period of time before he was turned in by her, he lost so much because of what he did. Anyways, my point is, I would have a hard time not killing someone for even trying to mess with one of my children, but I also try to be gracious and not condemn those who have done things wrong.
I agree. It's important to understand just what someone has been convicted of and the efforts they have made to turn their lives around. A high profile politician for a religious party has just been convicted of child offences. Prior to sentencing he sent out an email saying the bible had a different interpretation of consent from NZ law, and that the Bible had said it was OK. Well he can rot! The guy who picked up a 17 year old (and we have a high profile politician who did a similar thing as a young man and he's is generally well respected), so long as the age difference is not too extreme then you'd be inclined to feel sympathy.
Good stuff thanks for posting that. My sis is looking for a home in San Francisco. I'll give her the link.
