    What are the best sources to check any website's Page Rank? In my views, www.PRChecker.INFO is a good one. You guys know any other site to check PR?

    I am currently running Google Toolbar to automatically check the PR of any web page. I tried SeoQuake and SeoChat too. SeoQuake works smoothly but SeoChat is having some difficulties in showing it's results. Specially, "Keyword Density" check tool and PR Lookup and PR Search Tools.

    PageRank is almost meaningless these days, guys. It's more a badge of honour than any real indication of how your website will rank. Many moons ago Google used Page Rank to judge how authoritative a website was - this is no longer the case.

    You can see this for yourself by doing a few searches - does the highest PR website ALWAYS come first? (the answer is no).

    True. My web currently has 0 PR and still on some keywords, google shows my website on the top of other High PR websites. PR these days is just another Medal Of Honor.

    0 here too and trumping PR 6 sites on one of my keywords. {well, not my best keywords and only some of the time, but still.}

    Seems to mean less and less lately...

    PageRank still matters for a few reasons.

    1. If you're like me looking for guest bloggers, the more PR you have on a particular site, the more likely you are to get quality posts.
    2. PR still does provide an indication of how well a site ranks in Google. I've honestly seen spikes in traffic even still on my sites when their PR jumps on the toolbar, though theoretically Google states that they've already updated the site prior to it showing up on the toolbar.
    3. If ranking on targeted terms is your only goal, then Yahoo backlink count is a good predictor as any from SEO Moz.

    In terms of which site shows up for a particular search term, that depends on a number of factors including:

    1. Relevancy- i.e you have a blog about Mortgages with a pr 6 and I you write an article about probiotics, it won't rank as well as it would on a more relevant site.
    2. Keyword density of the article
    3. domain age.
    4. inbound links to that page: number, diversity of domains linking to it, authority of links, etc.
    5. domain name- still the cheapest seo strategy to rank for a search phrase.
    6. Meta description, title tags, blog post title
