The best sites to submit articles to?

    Hi,

There are thousands of sites you can submit your articles to. However, submitting them to all is a very labourius task, and a lot of the sites are not worth bothering with.

So can anyone tell me the "Essential" sites/directories where you should submit your articles to ??

    Thanks

I post to the following 4. They all have a good process and interface. I haven't had too much success with any of the Yahoo article submission services.

    • Ezinearticles
    • SearchWarp
    • ArticleDepot (I believe this is YSF1???? - not sure). Sorry if I quoted the wrong person
    • Isnare

I am the wrong one to ask actually, as I run the site :)

However, we have forums inside the users area where you are more than free to ask actual users that question. And its free to use the service anyway.

search warp is the only one I've seen that delivers traffic.

Ezine articles might if you are hitting webmaster type topics, but mine are more home related topics, and I barely get any reads on my ezine article submissions.

search warp's user base seems to be bigger and delivers great traffic for me.

The answer to that question really depends on your purpose for submitting articles: Traffic or SEO. If you are going for traffic, submit to the big directories that actively push their content to users in newsletters or rss feeds. If you are primarily looking for the SEO boost from links, submit to as many as you can. There are a huge number of free article submission sites/programs that you can use to generate hundreds of backlinks.

PR is sooo 2003. Traffic is all that matters.

Very true. They also have a great interface that tells you what keywords were searched to find your article.

    Skimmy,
Yes, but like lorien says, PR is simply a marketing gimmick. What really matters is the old school: Traffic. Just goes to show that some fads come back in style eventually. ;)

Not EXACTLY true in every case. I submit articles, not for PR, but for backlinks. Backlinks, deep linking and varied anchor text have been my method of SEO for years now. In the end, it is for traffic, but not really for traffic from the article sites, but for traffic that SEs deliver as a result of the article sites linking to you.

    I hope that made sense.

    It definetly did make sense.

The only reason I ask about a PR increase is because I have heard conflicting stories as the whether the duplicate content penaly negates any PR increase.

I reckon the best place to submit articles to is digg - shoutwire - furl - boingboing etc.

Its worth spending time coming up with genuinely newsworthy articles rather than rehashing the same old crap.
