hi, ive read that xml-sitemaps have a limit of 200 links. does anyone know of a better sitemap.xml generation tool. i also came accross sitemaplive.com, anyone ever use it?
You know, to be perfectly honest, if your site is well-made, and the pages are being indexed naturally by a search engine spider, an XML sitemap really isn't necessary. And if you are having trouble getting indexed, I'd look at building a regular sitemap page (you can see how that's done over at A List Apart), which will not only help the search engines (especially if placed near the top of your page in the HTML source code), but it'll also help improve the usability of your entire Web site, since it'll provide your visitors with an alternative method of searching your page (other than the standard menu).
Hey, I found your post from a qhile back. There's this new tool I came across... It offers alot more features than GSite's crawler... The problem is, it's not free The free version is limited to only 100 indexed urls, so if you have a big site - it's not for you (unless you're willing to buy a license). http://www.flame-ware.com/products/flame-spider/
