What do you guys use to determine the best? Search results, the most widely used? I think what makes a good search engine is the results when you do a search and to be honest google has to much noise for me when i am searching. MSN brings up relevent results.

Google, since day one of it's existance; but I doubt it will always be #1 as these things change over time.

Eh, of course it is Google for most of the world. However, Baidu, Yahoo and some others are popular in some countries.

I've been converted to.......drum roll......CHACHA! Seriously! Have you seen how great the results have gotten lately? A few months ago, I would have said Google, hands down. But not anymore. If you want to read more about it, go to: try.chacha.com/?rid=11990 There are also a bunch of news articles about it at the bottom of the page as well.

If you're looking for most enjoyable search engine, go with ChaCha.com. Sure, it'll take 10 times longer and return many irrelevant results, but how many other search engines give you a real person to toy with? Fun for a few tries at least, or if Google isn't giving you what you want.

My personal favorite is Google with the StumbleUpon toolbar in Firefox. It will show me rankings next to each Google site (5 stars = great, 0 stars = less so). Pretty handy for quickly finding quality sites.
