The one that keeps to itself, doesn't impose itself on others, and doesn't want to kill me.

Zoroastrianism and Judaism. Both religions don't go converting people.

Both are life-affirmative. I liked Buddhism but it was too Nihilistic. I musn't forget Christianity though for its role here in Indian Education, without which I wouldn't be typing English.

There is no such a thing as the best religion.

Religion is just an opium for the massess and like someone said - the best religion is one than doesnt impose its views on others.

In the end all religions are the same, ... a belief system that is trying to answers questions about human race, ... some are closers to the truth, ... some are away from the truth but they are all wrong.

    The questin should be:
"Whats the best to believe in?" - then you'll get an answer.

Religion is useless without faith - Who is preaching faith? __________!

LOL, it certainly seems that way.

All organised religions (with a few exceptions) seem to be out to convert and are responsible for war and death thoughout history. For me religion is a personal thing and it's best kept that way.

You are incorrectly quoting Karl Marx, his quote is misinterpreted by many. He means that the people do not look for solutions by themselves, but rather turn to their god and pray to take their problems away. Most people think that he means that people are being kept stupid by their leaders, which is not how he ment it :)

    Not really.

Infact I didnt even know this is Karl Marx qoute.

Beiing religious person is a privilige. Note that I dont have anything against them, just that I find them rather pathetic with all that killing "in the name of one and only right god" and all. It is very convenient to belive that god will take care of you, that there is afterlife, etc. And most people like priviliges and apply sheep horde attitute so they just go with the flow. Even if the flow is going to war to convert neighbours to their religion for example.

    I should probably wrote, ...

... but none is 100% right. Better ?

I mean if there is something like god I bet we as a race have only one god. And different cultures are trying to explain what this god should look like throughout entire human history. Every religioun in own way and not a single religion has managed to completely explain what this god should look like.

Unfortunately majority of wars was and is because different cultures tend to export their religion. That is the reason I would choose budhism as a best religion because as far as I now they are the only ones, that are not trying to convert anyone.

We know about christians or islam dont we ?

Agreed. Atm I can honestly say im an athiest for all practical purposes although I come from a COE background and havent totally shed the idea of God.

Buddhism for me has the least baggage of the major religions. Name a war or conflict started by Buddhists in recent memory?. I also like the fact that out of all the major religions Buddhism very firm focus is on self improvement and making a better you, so you can move to the next level. I can imagine monks that have practiced meditation for years on end would have tremendous mental dexterity and attunement.

Out of all of the worlds religions, its about the only one id be tempted to try.

    Personally, none.

My take on buddhism is as a very physical road into a personal psychology. The marvel of it for me is that a guy, thousands of years ago, sat his butt down for six arduous years of labor, only to find it was all so easy to begin with.:)

I also appreciate how the practice of zazen (or whatever line of buddhist meditation one happens to practice) marries quite well with the varied faiths (or non-faith) of its practitioners, as it is not an inherently religious system. When I bow to the statue of Buddha, I do so not out of religious sentiment but out of respect for the memory of a gifted teacher.

Thats true I dont think you can see Buddhism as a religion in the same sense as christianity, catholic, islam etc...Its more about an approach to life.

for every people, his own religion is best for him/her.
but for searching a true religion (not best), you need to work hard in religion.
