What are the best prices for non-professional writers, in your opinion? I know that a lot of professional writers can easily make up to a few dollars a word, but what about the rest of us who only have unprofessional experience and education in the matter of creating content? It seems that even with the right education and experience, no one can get anywhere without the right contacts. I have personally noticed that rates around places such as DP are unbearably low. But for people who only do this as a side job or hobby, I really can't see anything too much better.
A lot of people live in other countries than the US, where the cost of living is so much less, thus they can afford to accept lower payments. I usually pay $5-7 for an article (usually a few hundred words) from an inexperienced writer.
hahaha slow down there junior. I know a lot of "pro" writers talk a big game, but let's cut to the chase. Those of us who are solid copywriters (ad copy) can make those figures. And even then, anything over $1 per word can be difficult. "Pro" writers who do articles can't easily make $1+ per word. Sure, many will tell you that they can, but it just isn't so. In fact, many struggle to make 20 cents per word. There's only so many premium magazine jobs to go around. Why? Well, it's called results. If you hire Member X to write an article about "Types of Fish," it can be difficult to accurately quantify the results. However, let's imagine you pay me $5,000 for a sales letter. You then use that sales letter and get sales. You can directly see what I'm worth to you. And that's why advertising copywriters (the good ones) laugh at small fees and run around like the world is made of money. Oh wait. Is that just me? I'm kidding about me being arrogant by the way. I'm just poking fun at some copywriters I know that are a bit too smug for my liking. Okay, back to your dilemma. Want to know a business secret? You need to operate in the right spaces. You've noticed that the prices people want on DP are too low for you. What's that tell you? DP is fun, but unless the majority of visitors are your TARGET, you need to spend most of your time elsewhere looking for business. Ah, and there's the problem. Do you know when business gets easier? When you actually know your target. And no, your target isn't anyone who might be interested in what you're selling. That's a recipe for mediocrity.
Hit the correct niche you know and enjoy, I guess. We have tried many article writers and I would say if you order articles from the guys who know the niche and you are set - even if they charge 2-5c/word. Some 50c/word writers can't even come close because you must be good and understand the topic you are writing. A good essay writer that charges $0.25 per word can't write Pascal language tricks and tips (only general fluff, I guess) that a guy from India writes for about 1c/word. Quality and correct grammar is another question - you can order a grammar check and sentence re-structuring with your native English language editor. Still makes sense, eh?
In the begining one have to start from the scratch means you have to start with few dollars a article then when you start making your name in the online industry then you start making real money.
