Hi, relatively new to the site in terms of posts, so consider me newb. I have a new template site and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to promote it, ie, is there a list of sites that specifically list template sites? Anyone have any advice on how to make a template affiliate site successful? Thanks in advance!
Im a poker affiliate and theres only really one major forum for that specific niche theres gambling aswell but i mean just poker. And basically theres a guy on there who offers sites to be designed for $200 hes the only main web designer who promotes his services and literally if anyone is starting up a new design they hit him up. Hes makinga little killing from it. What he does do aswell is ask for you to leave his link in your footer where basically he can write whatever anchor text he wants to rank well aswell as gain many backlinks So id say try get into a small niche site that has many webmasters around that doesnt have any or many people offering web design services and start making a killing from that. This is just one way of course, but i posted this because i feel this is more specific to you rather than saying 'go do some ppc' Jord
I always thought that if you build a bunch of great template sites they'd be really valuable to hosting companies. They're always looking for ways to compete and having your templates on board could be the edge they're looking for.
I own such a website template site, I can tell you that if you start giving away free templates you will get good back links to your websites. Also give the link by email to build a mail list, see my site for proof. It is hard work but it works.
