what is the best output and dpi for 40x10cm for sticker design? It's for printing.. Is it good enough if I save it as JPEG?or other than that? any suggestion??
pdf or layered tiff would probably be preferred by the printer. CMYK@300dpi at least. greater if possible. though laying out graphics for print in photoshop isn't the best idea. if possible send to them in eps (embedded post-script) format. a vector image of the sticker. if anything call the company that will be printing it and ask them for the preferred format of the file and any steps that you can take to make pre-press as quick as possible.
If you save a jpg as max quality it will be fine at 300dpi. If you save anything with bitmap images as a pdf then it will also use jpg compression for the bitmap - so use either. If you have vector images or a lot of text then pdf is best. I generally export all printed work as PDF these days.
I wondered that - but I think it's French: (cyan, magenta, jaune, noir) for CMYK - unless anyone knows different???
