The Best Host...

Which is it? Does anyone have a clue? I tend to use HostMySite for my ColdFusion projects and BlueHost for my PHP projects. I know that GoDaddy does offer both but I've had some bad experiences with them and haven't really gone back.

I really like the cpanel for HostMySite and BlueHost isn't bad either. BlueHost has a pretty attractive price tag and although HostMySite is a little pricey - it does compensate with it's customer service which is great.

I'm interested to know what everyone else thinks about this. Who's the best? By What standards? Is it one company or two?

Wow - seem pretty cool - little expensive - but they seem solid - how long you've been with them? What about support??

havent been with them...but by general i know alot of people who have been happy with them and they have excellent support (this is what i have heard from other people)

but look around the site i havent seen any other host offering 33TB of bandwidth for 2K a month (but i might be wrong)

so yea they are good....u can also look at www.hostgator.com (there dedicated hosting isent all that great tho) , www.dreamhost.com

I frmly disagree, I used to rent dedis from layeredtech and thier support is worse than useless, everytime you ask a question the operator on the other end sends a canned response, everytime you want to upgrade your service they quote a different price, they were responsible for over 72 hours downtime during a server upgrade which is totally unecessary and I was informed would't happen, even though I haven't rented a server from them in over 6 months they have sent invoices on 3 occasions for the rental of a server at an ip I never even owned, some hosts are un-professional, some are just plain rubbish, layeredtech are definately the latter.

Wow imagine that - keep 'em coming in - guess this is a good thread. I never really knew about the others. LayeredTech? Wow - and the site looks so cool too!! LOL (can't judge a book by it's cover 'eh?)

any body else got die-hard good experiences with any hosts?

How about hosts that support both ColdFusion and PHP ALONG with great service (ok I may be asking for much ... but hey - humour me!)

Wow, that is extremely cheap. Can you provide a link? Is it a dedicated 1GB port or shared?

I have been very happy with Pair Networks. I've been using sites hosted by them for 5 years and downtime has been almost nonexistent. Excellent support group, very knowledgeable people.

PalSys Hosting - The cream of the crop :)

Shameless plug aside, I've had decent experiences with JaguarPC for shared and 800hosting.com for dedi. Both could use some work on their support options though.

kewl! still no CF and PHP hosting though - hmmm ok - the best CF host then?

I heard CrystalTech is pretty solid, but I've been exposed to HostMySite and they are pack a massive punch - I'd put HostMySite over CrystalTech. Does anyone have anyone better than these two?

has anyone been having issues with BlueHost? I've been working on my site and noticed that it keeps going down ever so often (like 3 times or so in half an hour with a down time of about 3 minutes)
