    what is the Best free cms for creating forums ?
    i am using joomla!
    vBulletin is greate but is not free.

    Well i dont know about the best CMS managed forums. But if your after a pretty decent bit forum software and you have abit of hosting space check out lussimo Vanilla providing you have a decent knowledge of PHP and MySQL they are extensible but if you dont theres a rather large add-ons section on the site.

    For forum, you can use phpBB or SMF. Just google them, see their demo and pick one of them :D

    I think that IP.Board is the best CMS Board... its nice, easy to work with and have plug-ins that you can use.

    phpBB - Very good but there plugin system sucks an almighty amount, you have to manually add the code to your pages so then makes it difficult to upgrade
    myBB - Very very good software for forum and portal
    Drupal - Far more powerful than the others
    SMF - Very good again
