Someone recommended Commission Junction to me recently as a possible affiliate program for my Reality TV Blog For whatever reason, I've never investigated them before. Was wondering if you guys had used them in the past and what you thought? Also if there are programmes out there that you feel are better.
CJ currently has the largest selection of big name merchants. They are a great choice, IMO, though as with any big network, there are questions on their tracking, stability, and parasites. You can find just about anything you need to sell in their product database. It is annoying that you have to wait until $10k in sales per month to have free access to the datafeeds; otherwise it is a $200 fee. What is the TV show about? Maybe there are some smaller programmes or independants that might fit.
I am new to cj this week. I have got 10 click throughs and made one sale to get £22 comission so far. Whether this continues I don't know.
That is a very good ratio to start with! Now add more clickthroughs of the same quality traffic and see where it goes, right? There are many huge but niche brands in CJ. Not just big brand name companies like the Gap, but niche companies that convert very well to their target audience. Sometimes you can strike gold by finding one that isn't well promoted yet -- so don't always go by the CJ network earning or EPC stats.
Hmm. Sounds like a good idea, Hoff. I might sign up and see how I go - the Amazon programme isn't much good and I need to replace it with something more effective. Have you tried anything other than CJ? The site itself - unrealitytv.co.uk - is a blog covering most current UK reality tv shows. Take a look and tell me what you think.
I'm not surprised the generic Amazon product ads are doing poorly. Your adsense integration looks excellent; not sure if it could be any better without being tricky or obtrusive. If you'd like, I'll review your site on my blog (see link above) to help improve monetization. Send me a PM with some appx. traffic numbers and where you think your earnings are lagging. Looks like a good site though; I haven't checked your SE rankings but it should do well for you.
Any other suggestions for affiliate programs. I have tried affiliate window for more than 6 months, but the earnings haven't been impressive.
if u have no problems with promoting digitally downloadable products like ebooks, softwars etc, you can also try clickbank.
hai.. you can check out the indian affiliate network called Affiliate Curry, though i haven't used it much.... in cj.com also you can try to promote non-tangible goods like softwares, downloads etc, but physical products will be difficult. you can promote aff. programs of ebay.in (indian part of ebay) where you will get a min. of 70cents per confirmed registration... regards, deepak.c
hey Guys, Last time I tried CJ I had to wait to get approved by any company I wanted to use and the wait seems long for the dental company I wanted to promote at the time. Has that been your experience or am I missing something? Thnx
ther are two types of approval by the companies.... One is automatic approval - wherein your application will get approval immediately as soon as you have applied. this holds good for products like softwares and wholesale product sites etc.... second one is manual approval - here the company offering the aff. prog. will take time to check out your website and other details that you have provided and then they approve you. most of the ebay sites and prog. offering products which target to a specific country etc have this method. generally the second type takes more time. for ex. when i applied for ebay italy and spain programs, the italy application was approved within 24 hrs. but the spain application took 3 days and then they rejected my application... so the lead time for the approval of your applcation entirely depends on the program you are choosing... regards, deepak.c
