Godaddy. I think all people in the world has account there event many of them hate Godaddy. I love and hate godaddy together
You're kidding! Good thing I tend to remove autorenew from most of my domains so that should also remove the privacy autobill. In fact, I remove the privacy option from everything I do plan to renew (almost anyway). Other than that, I find Godaddy works. Love their support -- and they even refunded me some autobill $ when I had forgotten to cancel the automatic renewal. You just have to learn to say "NO" to all their siren calls for upsells. I get my domain names there and my hosting elsewhere for $10/month for all of my 200+ domain names. I tried a couple of others but then I forget where they are, so it's a pain. I like to have everything in one place. In fact, I've moved almost everything over to Godaddy now.
I think Name.com and Namecheap are 2 one of the best in the business because of their clutter free user interface. GoDaddy sucks for their slowish and overdone advertising interface while you buy domains from them.
Domain "privacy" offered by registrars is more of a nuisance if you ask me. All this means is the registrar effectively has complete control of your domain.
Well, I can join the majority and Say Go daddy - it is the best American rock-solid domain name registrar. It offers really cheap domain name registration.
A lot of people over-emphasize the importance of a pretty interface. Bear in mind in most cases you only change your nameserver information once every couple of years if that. So long as it gets the job done I think that's good enough.
