I'm from a city just outside of Toronto. It does get quite cold here in the winter months but by no means is it cold for 9 months of a year. We have warm springs, hot summers (in July and August it can get up to 40 degrees Celsius), and cool autumns but it generally doesn't fall below freezing for more than 3 or 4 months a year. There are places in Canada, though limited, that rarely ever fall below freezing. In fact, British Columbia actually has tropical-climate rainforests! Climate aside; I think my favourite part of living in this country is the diversity among our people. Nearly every cultural diversity and every lifestyle around the world can be found somewhere in Canada. For the most part we accept all beliefs and love to learn about other peoples cultures. It also make for great a great food-scene since you can find authentic cuisines from every corner of the earth I think the worst part, however, is the privatized school-system that we continue to suffer from. All our post-secondary schools are privately owned and operated, meaning that Colleges and Universities can charge exorbitant amounts to attend. This makes it extremely hard to attain a higher education -which is needed for nearly every career position in the job field. The government, of course, offers assistant programs to help pay these outrages tuition fees but most of them are at high interest rates leading one to spend half their life trying to pay them back.
If you like country living or the hermit lifestyle, Montana/Idaho are pretty nice (low taxes/less invasive laws), but if you want a more 'city' lifestyle, the whole Western Coast of the US is great, but New York is better in my opinion lol.
It's all a personal preference really. People say Denmark. I disagree as I'm not a fan of a huge welfare state. I do love it here in America. However, we have strayed far away from what our constitution states. We spend far too much money and are in too much debt. Regardless, I love where I currently live in Minnesota.
