So much for that declining dollar BS.... I love traveling in Europe myself... Over the years I've seen and done a lot of interesting things, and I've never really had Europe described to me the way my best friend described it just a week ago.... He'd never been anywhere in the US, much less overseas until becoming a software engineer for Motorola. Now he travels all over the globe. His description of Europe was as follows: "Europe smells like diesel and a garbage dump." While I never really characterized it like that, with the exception of Jersey, I'd have to say the air in the US does smell better... $500/night... Hell, my wife and I are leaving for the House on the Rock Resort and it's only $185/night for their Executive King Suite. Two rooms, two TVs, 2 person hot tub, private balcony and water park... Includes breakfast too... What am I to do with that extra $315?... hmmm... Well, I bought me a Samsung mini DVD camcorder last nigh for the trip.. That tipped the scales at around $300, so I guess the declining dollar wins again!
Good for U.S. tourism. Now, just think how rich those rich europeans will feel now when they come to the U.S. they will have to take the snobbiness up a few notches! (I know rich Americans are probably the same when they are in EU.)
Well, I suppose if we just made up a new currency our of thin air, we too could artificially inflate it's value as well.. Either way, some things just cost money... Expensive or not, so long as you have fun and enjoy yourself, it's only money... You can always make more!
well if feeling rich is on your agenda, Nicaragua is definitely the place for you to go Go to a store, buy a pack of marlboros (if you don´t smoke, please don´t), a can of beer, a bad of chips and the total will come to $1.30 (no kidding)
I staying out of Nicaragua after what happened to Eric Volz http://www.friendsofericvolz.com/ I like Honduras. I never had a problem there. But anyone without cajones will be victimized.
Fascist government -- severe limits on freedom of speech and freedom of self-defense High taxes Lousy medical care Horrible climate On the bright side, there are some pretty girls in Vancouver.
I'm not sure that anyone would be wise to offer themselves up as willing victims of the Laskar Jihad. The Indonesian government has failed to prosecute that organization or it's leaders for thousands of murders which they have committed. Worse, there is significant evidence that the organization is receiving direct support and training from the Indonesian military.
I just got back from Panama to extend my visa. Well, actually I didn't go into Panama, I just went to the border, got stamped out .... nevermind, this is public record so I better chill. Just make sure that when you guys go into Panama, you have $500.00 in cash on you to show the immigration officer. If you don't, he will say "Just gimme 25 bucks and you get in". I know.
Regarding Canada. My understanding that Canada is a Territorial Tax Nation. Wouldnt this be almost the ideal place for us making a living on the internet through AdSense, etc? Basically, we would make zero income inside Canada and pay zero tax. What am I missing? PS: I am not US so would not fall under the whole US Citizens pay tax no matter where they live
Sounds a lot like my trip to St. Lucia... In order to get out we had to pay some goofy leaving the island tax.. Since my trip was all inclusive, I refused... I ended up having to a little over 100 bucks just to leave, or no ticky... Swindlers.. Got friends in Argentina? Don't try to send them anything valuable, even through UPS... The customs office opens up packages and keeps things for themselves.. On top of that, they charge you for this service as a penalty if they find something they like.
By the way, when you go to Nicaragua, the official fee is $7.00 To use the words of my friend: "What is this, a fucking nightclub?"
The problem I had was there was no mention of this "fee" by Sandals, therefore, I was not going to be paying it...
My experience with SA has been that when there is anofficial fee, it's cheaper than when there isn't one Oh man, I have some horror stories with shipping companies down here too. Trying to save money down here can cost you plenty. Once you know the right people, everything is easy, before that .... good luck!
True enough. I was seriously thinking about sending dog crap to Argentina labeled "dear customs, some really nice stuff in here; do not open".
