swreg.org is the PP main competitor coz they can be use to receive paypal and the charge is lower then paypal.
As far as I know there is only one service which can compete - alertpay .Although the kind of place t paypal has made in online world it is almost impossible to replace it . Its condition is same as that of google in search world.
there are lots of..Like in adult business epassporte is the king. Nomrally others are moneybookers,LR,alert pay and all
I think paypal have no competitor. But,if you want a alternative, you may think moneybookers.Even some time alertpay. But,I think moneybookers is best.
PayPal dominates the internet payments. So far It doesn't have a competitor. MoneyBookers is the second most famous Payment processor but there is a huge gap between PayPal and MoneyBookers.
I must say that it will depend greately. I have been reading the thread and see that most of you see it from the perspective of the business owner, but as a user and client of a website I think that it is important also to consider that. the advantage of Paypal is that its customer service will deal ASAP in any language and when you are talking to them in that particular language, the person who is talking to you will also understand the local slang. For seriously internet impaired people that is worth gold. furthermore, in my particular case, conducting the cheque transfer of the money from moneybrookers will take a wide chunk out of the amount received, so it is not so good for me, it is better paypal since their transfer is through swift rather than a cheque. On the other hand, the way to upload funds from moneybrokers is better since it can be done through a debit card as if it were a local transaction, or so it says on their website. so, in the end it will depend greately on what it is that you want or plan
There are lot of payment processors, Moneybookers is good choice, Google Checkout, Alertpay... but if you want confidence from Offshore law you should check HooPay.com because is really cheaper than PayPal, only 1% of received money and you can upload funds with credit card and withdraw via exchanger to make good privacy in your transactions. Cheers
I would definitely recommend us for any items you sell that are $1 or less (Access to your web site, eBooks, files, videos, etc). Your visitors can simply fill out a survey to access your content. Each survey that is completed, you earn $1. For anything above $1, it's best to stay on PayPal's good side and comply, even when you think they are in the wrong. I've been a PayPal user since 2001. I have had many horror stories with them (getting ripped off, payments held, charge backs, etc), but in the long run, it was best to not let the set backs ruin me and chalk it up as the cost of doing ecommerce. Just move forward and keep your head up... I have not found a better alternative.
For me, Paypal is in class of their own. No one is close to them. But if you're looking for Paypal alternative, you can use Alertpay or Moneybooker.
Yea I have been using PayPal for what seems like forever. While they do have some setbacks, they are the best payment processor. Even people who are not familiar with doing business online have heard of the name PayPal. If you upgrade your account to Premier/Business they give you a debit card as well. This gives you INSTANT access to your funds. I don't foresee anyone taking them off their throne in the near future either. Jim
Currently there are no competitors of paypal.com. You can use moneybookers and alertpay but they both have pros and cons. Moneybookers audit team is too strict in any kind of suspicious transaction and they steal peoples money saying "suspicious account activity" and "repair charges". Currently moneybookers is not accepting payments from US clients. Alertpay got noticed when Paypal.com banned PTC sites. Though Alertpay is very popular among PTC users but it is still not so popular like Paypal.
Someone told me about Epassporte.com tonight. I have had no experience with it as a consumer. He seems to like it. Jarrod
As much as people bitch and moan about Paypal, almost everyone still uses them. There are many competitors but none has of yet grabbed a large enough hold to even come close to being a major competitor. The majority of non Paypal users do so only because of blocked or limited accounts or because it is yet to be available in their country.
