I recommend Wordpress as well, though I use Movable Type for my own sites.

I have heard you cant put adsense on wordpress....but then some people say you can.

    Are there two types ?

    Wordpress.org
    &
    Wordpress.com

Whats the difference ? Which one would I choose to put on my own website ? Or do they both do that ?

Wordpress.org is the way to go. It allows you to place advertisements.

Are you going to have your own domain? If so, go wordpress. If you don't want to pay for your own hosting service and a domain, go with blogger, as they are free and allow you to put up ads.
