Is it better to Launch a new site by putting a link on one of your other sites with a strong page rank or someone else's site? The new site is relevant to the old one.

Relevant linking from a high PR site sounds like a bright idea in general.

    Better in what sense?

If it's for PR and to get it indexed fast, go for the higher PR page.

If it's for the rankings go for the relevant one.

A bonus is likely if the linking site is registered in som eone else's name.

But to make sure you get all the benefits, link it both ways! Simple! :)

Actually yes, it's very likely so, although it's always hard to prove and know for sure.

Also, that I didn't mention, is that different class C Ips are more effective than links that come from the same.

We have a bunch of sites, and that's exactly what happened when I linked one of my other higher pr sites to a newly created site. And that site got more or less ,the same pagerank, which obviously make it a good link.

Where the sites on the same ip? I'm still wondering about linking sites on the same ip address. I thought that it won't help with PR but it would help in SERP.

Please post if the new site got high PR from linking to a site with the same IP. I'll assume you didn't do very much SEO with the new name?

    Thanks.

getting a link from a related high PR site is always helpful. You can get a good PR boost for your new site and also help in indexing it. This can also reduce the time your new site spends in the sandbox.

The top links, in this order:
Yahoo directory, Dmoz (if you can get it), sbd.bcentral.com, Business.com, squidoo, wikipedia.
