I am in Australia myself and classifieds are making it in a big way. Sensis, one of Australia's largest ad/directory businesses owns the likes of the Yellow Pages, White Pages,Trading Post, City Search (dir) and a range of other businesses that saturate the market.

I feel that no matter what business you need to promote there is a directory/classified that is likely to cater.

Online classifieds are often neglected as sources of traffic by marketers.Though, the traffic from one particular site may not be huge, consolidating visitors from about 10 or 20 top classifieds can make some difference to your stats.
