The battle between Google and Baidu in China

    if you search "SB" in Google China(Google.cn), the first site is Baidu
    and if you search "SB" in Baidu, the first site is Google!

    and here you should know what "SB" means in China!

    SB is abbreviation of "Sha Bi" (Chinese PinYin), it's a dirty words in China

    means: idiot or stupid or something like these...

    they are beating each other :) :) :)

    YEAH, the asian population is very large and clearly baidu has imprinted their mark on china

    Baidu has the blessings of China govt and I would expect it to successfully defend its turf against Google. It has home ground and home grown advantage. Another advantage is that the languages are different, Baidu is strong on Chinese characters searching.

    In China, Yes but not elsewhere, whereas Google penetrates nearly the rest of the English speaking world.

    I'm in china and i just tried it out. The result came back like you said. That's interesting. Baidu is doing well in giving Google a hard competition. Baidu recently opened Baidu Japan. Baidu offers so much services that most chinese would still prefer it over Google. :D

    Baidu have the local advantage,it launch many service like search MP3,bAIDU answer etc.Baidu is good at learning and spread it to common chinese ppl.

    not in china since most chinese people use only baidu to search. only few will use google. Google still can not beat baidu in china yet and i dont think they can do that in a near future too. It's a hard job for google to beat the bigger competitor there.

    It is not just bigger, China would want to have a search engine that it can control so Baidu is the default choice for China, no matter how hard Google try. Unless Google buys over Baidu, but I doubt that the Chinese authorities will approve
