Hi, I am running a humor site and got about 1% click rate per page impression. Is that rate good or not ? thanks
1-3 percent CTR is average although it can be much lower for forums and sites targeting younger audiences.
I get about a 3% for my site, when I have it listed on a popular top-sites, however when people find my site through natural search, by CTR gets to about 7%.
Hate to be a spoil sport, but you guys do know you are in violation of the ToS by making your CTR known? Even if it's just an average. Seeing as there is an actual representitive of Adsense visiting the forums I think it's a bit of a risk, don't you?
if you wish to improve your CTR on your humor site i would suggest you post a link to it and then members here on DP will beable to help tell you how to better place those ads to maximize your daily earning!
Although you might not be refering to a specific site, others are definitely refering to their actual CTR on their sites. I really doubt that Google will really ban publishers for making the info known, but better to be safe than sorry.
I find humour sites to be poor adsense vehicles. I put this down the contextual nature of the ads. Are people really interesting in buying things related to the content of the joke they are reading?
Usually the ads go along the lines "funny tshirts" and stuff so the people think its just funny pictures.
