The Article Hijack - A potentially profitable idea...

Hey guys I just thought of something and I thought I'd share...

You know when you're doing your keyword research... and you type it in Google in quotes as a phrase match... and you discover an article on EzineArticles already being there...

Could you make an article with the exact same title, but of course not the same content, and would that get you an indented listing beneath the original article?

Provided that the search term doesn't have like a gazillion competing pages and you could rank on the first page, you could get an indented listing right?

According to StomperNet (guys running 8 figure businesses) indented listings are proven to double traffic, no matter where your listing is. http://www.stompernet.net/goingnatural2/video1.asp?vid=1

So could you piggyback off another article and get that? Or am I on some wild goose chase here?

    Feedback?

From what I understand yes you'll get indented but it'll only be temporary.

Interesting idea Lemonarian. I was a member of Stomper for awhile and I do remember what they said about indent ads - and yes it seems like you could do something like that with EZineArticles if you were smart with how you did it. I'm going to give it a go on Monday and see how it works out.

I'm an SEO MASTER :) And I'm not sure you'll get listed, i havent seen any ez articles double listed in google, probly because for double listin to happen the first Google resoult should link directly to the secound resoult wich is highly unlikly.

But if you publish a article that is linking to another article (dont know if ezin asepts this), bolth with the same title, then if your article get's some good backlink then you will be ranked high and get double listin.

Bad english and grammer so hope you understand.

Umm, why piggyback when you can be the #1 for that keyword? ;)

If you get a ranking at #10 and you also have a ranking at #1 then you'll get double listed as #1 and #2 (indent) ... but if you ranking at #11 and #1 then you won't get that double listing, you'll be listed at #1 and #11.

So if there's an EZineArticles article with a #1 ranking you then just have to get yours to the top 10 for it to be double listed. This will probably happen when you first submit it (depending on the competition on the keyword phrase of course), but then you'll have to do other things to keep up or to get it back up. At least that's the theory. I think it's worth a try. I like the idea Lemonarian - I'm going to try it myself ;)

It's unlikely that you will get an indented listing with an EzineArticle...

You can get an indented listing with a squidoo because of the connection between recommended squidoo's on the same page... but with an EzineArticle, you don't have a connection there.....

You would do better to optimise a squidoo and beat the EzineArticle that way, instead of trying to get an indented listing that's never gonna happen anyway..

Indented listings are cool for traffic, but you can't do it with EzineArticle

Just my .02 <--- worth every penny

Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification guys, I was unsure about the links required and stuff like that, but it might be worth trying with squidoo then, just make the other link a bit discreet lol.
