Im just noticing now craigslist requires money to post in some sections now that used to not require it... like erotic services... In New York, so far today about 900 erotic ads posted... thats 900 ads X 5.00, = 4,500 dollars... 4,500 x 365 (days) = 1.6 mil and thats JUST new york city and JUST erotic services... not even getting into what they charge for job postings and real estate postings etc... ... and all they really have to do is fight spam (which is eaiser now that they charge) and keep the site secure... wow, life must be good for Craig....
yup, its a major site , it is actually a big site, some people don't know it. I heard there are like 5000 people on it from one city at one time
But they have to be on their toes all the time to fight spam as there are a lot of webmasters and blackhatters trying to make the most out of it. But no doubt they would be making a lot of money.
Yup, CL is doing very, very well. Took him time but it is amazing how large and how much traffic they get.
