Looking at that SS I wouldn't worry about the UK traffic.. 2.6% is very low at your traffic levels and when you consider who those visitors could be (people off this forum, accidental visitors) there is very little chance you would convert them.
Good idea. I've done everything as instructed and the localizer is not working. Im going to let it go and look into other way to improve the site.
Just keep it, it's not costing you anything to allow it to stay, might as well leave it alone, and then get a surprise sale one day
I'am not about to give up on this Amazon Link Localizer. I am seeing more and more foreign traffic daily. Just today I saw dozens of hits just from the UK alone. Has anyone had experience with this? I've personally reached out to the creator of it who's name is Pete Will by email & phone (hes in UK & Im In USA) but have not successfully reached him. With just a little effort we will get this thing working for us and anyone with a large amount of traffic will see decent payoff pretty much just gravy as its all traffic they would be wasting. Im about maximizing profits. If the site is getting just 36 foreign views a day by search engine in these early stages.. why wouldnt i put in the effort to cash in on those easy highly targeted potential sale? Stat Counter shows me they are coming in through some powerful keywords with the word buy and the item name in the title. Its just days after Furor.co's 1 month anniversary. So the 36 foreign hits daily hits already, then looking to the future will be extremely bright. Anyone else want to cash in on this and help get this figured out? I am determined and have a mindset to figure this out. I also boled the creators name and his programs title in this post so he will be sure to find it on Google and increase the possibility of helping us. Looking to the bright future.. -Alan Craker
You might be chasing this thing for a while, I'm not sure if it will pay off in the short term. Keep up the good work though, I'm impressed. My main site only gets 40 hits a day according to google analytics, and I'm writing a ton of content daily, it's getting tiresome.
My main site gets about 20 uniques a day and makes around $50/mo with some months nearing $100. I have others that get 100 uniques a day and don't make many Amazon sales but do make about $1.50/day in Adsense. Then I have a blog that gets almost 3000 uniques a month and sells nothing and makes no ad revenue. This internet business is so volatile I'm glad I have a regular programming gig to keep me going.
I'm with you man, if I didn't have an existing freelance QA gig, I'd be in rough waters with online incomes only.
Today I've plunged into the Amazon Music world. I took a look at their beautiful Amazon Music Widget. I then looked up the Top 50 Songs so far for 2012 and got busy fulling the music section of my site. I already see some clicks from Google!? Wow.. that was quick. Pretty fun stuff to work on since I am crazy about music. These pages are easy and quick to make with the Amazon Widget, they add quality to your site and the Google Keywords with Low competition are tremendous! There are just tons of searches with millions of monthly local searches with Low competition. You might want to get to work on a music section for yourself. it can drive up your numbers of monthly purchases, therefore driving up the Associate Pay Rate.. and your earnings overall on all products. Below are some photos of the progress on the music section & pages I've begun to add: Here's a live link to the music page.
I'm building a music site with the widgets .. in fact I just finished writing a custom CMS for building music review sites with the Amazon MP3 widgets.
Some amazon widgets don't work well with AdBlock plugin and will be blocked. So, please test your site with other Internet browser such as Chrome, firefox and IE with common adblock plugins.
Here we are.. a couple months into the "Amazon Associate Project". I am happy to say its trucking along, one of the items I sold today was a mini bike costing a few hundred dollars. After reading several guides and posts online (some of which you yourself may have posted), I found the approaching holiday season is when earnings sky rocker x3-x10 the earnings. I also found that toys are a top seller during this time. So you may see the homepage filled with dozens of new toys over the next few days. I am like a busy holiday elf trying to get ready for the big days. The "Amazon Associate Project" has been full of learning experiences. Primarily learning new tricks to optimize the site. Adding this and that. Today I got accepted into the Ebay Partner Program. It's time to ask myself.. is it worth incorporating into Furor.co & how to do it. I researched the earning structure and it sounds a bit different. However, if I add Ebay links to the site I could give it a positive spin. Do you think it would increase my overall profit or kill it? I understand Ebay pays per click and the amount paid per each click is based off the visitors typical actions. All clicks pay the same at the end of the day. I have decided to try it out. Below you can see how I have began to incorporate it into recent product listings: Live Page The site has really matured in its two month life span. We built this thing together, learned together and have far yet to go. However if you see anything you have a question on or want to incorporate into your site just ask. You've surely helped me.
After having Ebay on just a dozen of my new posts I found myself with substantial earnings. I will be keeping Ebay on Furor.co along with Amazon! They are a good fit together.
Instead of paying per sale, Ebay pays for every click. The amount paid per click is based off your overall click quality. Many factors go into determining click quality. It's a refreshing mix with Amazon. Now if there is ever a day where I dont see a sale on Amazon, there will most certainly be earnings from click throughs over to Ebay. Very exciting. Hi LemonTide, How much you earn daily with this site. Are you doing any link building and content posting?
Hi Alan, I'm so glad I stumbled across this thread. It made for some great reading, following the progress of your site. I visited the site, and you really have done a good job on it. I would absolutely get as many toys on there as you can ASAP. From now until mid-December, you could make a killing, just getting your piece of the billion dollar holiday sales pie. I hope you'll continue to post about your success. I'm sure there are others as inspired by it as I am. Thanks again for sharing. Honey
Hello, I am glad you followed my experience and found it inspirational. Your advice of continuing to get new toys listed on the site helped me get up the energy to post several new ones tonight. So thanks! Update with Great News! A while back I mentioned I installed a widget that geo-targeted website visitors and got me international sales by directing them to the correct Amazon site for their country. IT WASNT WORKING AT ALL.. I told you I would get it working though. After contacting many people and snooping around I started feeling helpless. Until yesterday! I saw the widget had a update available. I grabbed the update and today I see click throughs in 5 countries!
