I have a question. How do you think amazon buys their products? Wholesale Dropship Bulk Light Bulk how do they have their buying system set up? Why im asking is i recently ordered from amazon.com and each product comes seperatly if shipped fast "Why could this be" Or have it combined and get free shipping. Im starting to wonder if they use dropshipping and if you want the free s/h it goes to amazon place they put all packages into one of their boxes and its done. Any one want to shed some light on this issue.
There's some really interesting books that cover this kind of thing (I've just finished Chris Anderson's "The Long Tail" which had a bit of a case-study) As far as I know it's a combination of: 1. Print-on-Demand or small-print runs using their own printing systems 2. Used books are actually sourced through an interface with a network of second-hand book shops across America so stock is held there 3. Warehoused product. Anyone else know any more? Dylan
