The ads are on my site but weight is 0

    Go to the Weight Forum for all the complete details.. You need to make sure your pages are indexed by google in order to get some weight.

    Do they also have to have PR? My site is brand new and Google (I'm told) won't be updating PR for another 6 weeks or so. Am I doomed to weightlessness until they get around to ranking me?

    Yes it has a PR1 and 297 pages are indexed.
    But he site is working with on html based SSI.
