I understand where you're coming from, but I don't entirely agree that a little knowledge is dangerous.

For instance, I train clients to update their own sites and blogs. I first of all get them to write thier own article, then do some keyword research and amend slight aspects of the page title, heading and content.

Now, this is all the info that I give to my clients, but because I emphasise the importance of them not going off to do anything different by themselves, in this case a little knowledge is very useful.

As far as the original post goes, it would have been better if the information would have been posted directly on DP, but it does seem more like a list of ways to 'optimize' your site rather than necessarily improve its ranking which is something different alltogether.

Link building is GOLD unless you are a keyword GENIUS for writing articles in a way that invites millions to read it.

Agreed, I myself just looked at the titles and found the rest of it something I already know and did not continue reading. Maybe i may have found it boring but I have been doing SEO so quite sometime.

Sometimes beginners get overwhelmed with all the information and do not know where to start. So basic stuff should always be appreciated for people to be able to catch up.

Maybe a better title would have been:

7 basic steps to get started into on-page SEO Optimization

But this is just my opinion.

Perhaps linkbuilding is becoming somewhat overrated as far as rankings go, its maybe teh best vestige for control of somekind for webmasters though.
