The 5th roule on the "Associates Program Participation Requirements"

    This rule states that:
    5. You will use Content solely in accordance with the terms of the Operating Agreement and within the express scope of the license granted in Section 11 of the Operating Agreement. Without limiting the foregoing, you will (a) use Content solely to send end users and sales to the Amazon Site and will not link any Content to, or in conjunction with any Content direct traffic to, any page of a site other than the Amazon Site (however, parts of your site that are not closely associated with the Content may contain links to sites other than the Amazon Site); and (b) link each use of the Content solely to the related Product detail page or other relevant page of the Amazon Site and not to any other page.

Does this actually mean that on one page only links to Amazon.com can exist?

What I have in mind is a blog page, which writes about bicycle (http://www.nightrider.iblogger.org/blog/?page_id=3) in describes different products - some can be from Amazon and other not. Is this a problem?

May I not mix amazon and other seller's links on one page?

Thanks for any help you could give me.

Well, you can't use their content to deceivious send traffic elsewhere. Sure you can have a review site, comparing this to that but then either without Amazon's content or just be very careful with what's what and give proper credit, like: Image courtesy of Amazon (and link the picture).

It pays to play fair, at least in the long run. So do a popular site, with good quality and Amazon will be happy having you pushing their products.

    Hello Adraco,

thank you for the ultra fast response.

Playing fair is my main motto - I simply don't feel right about acting against the rules. I too believe that for the long run it is the best tactic.

So my question was actually aiming at being very honest, I will elaborate using an example:
I have a site in which I show how to build a helmet mount for an LED flashlight. Since I used a flashlight I bought at Dealextreme I put some affiliate links to direct the readers to the DealExtreme site. In the same review I also write about my helmet, which sels on Amazon so I would like to add an Amazon.com affiliate link as well so the readers can take a look on the amazon site as well. I have no problem stating that the helmet can be bought on Amazon - I don't try to confuse my readers, the opposite is the case.

Is this working by or against Amazon's rules?
Does rule #5 mean that on one page I may have only Amazon links?

Again - many thanks for your help

Use some common sense, Amazon of course want to sell it's stuff but also understands and knows that things can also be bought elsewhere. Surely you can do a website where you describe projects and how-to:s and in those link to where you got the stuff. That would be to abide by the rules. To make things confusing to the visitor, and use Amazon's name or content to try to sell someone elses stuff, no-no! :)

Having said that, I don't know how they would look upon something like:
I just read this book, I really like it. It can be bought here, here and here... and best price right now is...

But as long as it's an Amazon product and you are linking to it exclusively you should be more than good.

Great! - this is exactly what I had in mind. I have no intention in misleading my readers/Amazon. In my article How to make your own LED flashlight helmet mount? I talk about a flashlight from Dealextreme and a helmet from Amazon (Still no Amazon links there). It is not often (if at all) that I will write about one product and give different sellers on the same page.

Your response was most helpful to me!, thank you :)

My opinion is that this rule is stop people taking Amazons content and using it to promote other products or merchants. So you could take all the reviews for an Amazon product and use them on your own eCommerce site, or use it to link to another shop site.

As long as you aren't doing anything malicious like this I wouldn't worry. If your linking to Amazons products and other products fairly then you will be fine.
