    Thanks for the list HydroJohn. I will have to add the Miva tool to my own list of free keyword tools. I also recommend wordpot and seobook's keyword tool.

    I like the adwords keyword tool. It is information right from the horses mouth and tells you about your competition for your keywords along with ideas for other ones. Cheers!

    The only tool to use is Adwords.

    In all honesty keyword tools are based on part reality, part fantasy, part wishful thinking....so its easiest just to use Adwords and keep your fingers crossed.

    The only true measure comes from Hitwise and ComScore and they are expensive reports to buy.

    Might want to start at the very beginning and read the thread title...

    Keyword = free

    Keyworddiscovery is $70.00 per month therefore its not free.....

    You may want to visit this site

    ;)

    certainly good free keyword tools. But to say that they are the best, i doubt a bit. Google keyword tool is very good though.

    Great list, thank you.
    I'd also suggest http://www.submitexpress.com/keytracker.php
    This includes results from both Wordtracker and Keyworddiscovery. Cannot be used alone because it is way too optimistic but in conjunction with Adwords Tool, it is great for generating nice long-tail keywords and just checking things. But I should repeat again: don't trust it without verifying things with Adwords.
